HEXTABLE

Hextable is a pleasant place to live, it is an attractive rural village surrounded by beautiful Green Belt. The village is inside the M25 in north west Kent in the Sevenoaks District. It borders the London Borough of Bexley and Dartford. It is a few minutes from the A2, M20 and M25. The population of Hextable is 4,400 with 1,800 homes and covers nearly 2 square kilometres. Hextable is the 5th largest of twenty seven parishes in the district and in the top 10% of the country for size. It gained its own parish council in April 2008, as a result of a public petition that led to a Governance Review. Hextable has plenty of open green spaces including a central Village Green, Hextable Park which is 9 acres, Hextable Gardens which includes allotments, the Avenue of Limes and Claremont Green.

Nine councillors sit on the Parish Council holding 7 council meetings a year. The Council also has a Personnel Committee, an Audit & Finance Committee, an Open Spaces Committee, a Facilities Committee and a Communications Committee. All meetings are open to the public and there is an item for residents' questions at every Council meeting. The village holds a yearly 'Beating of the Bounds' organised by the Residents' Association. This old English village tradition consists of a 4 mile walk round the village boundary every September to ensure none of the land of Hextable has been encroached! The village holds a free firework event every year in November and a Remembrance Service in the Memorial Hall at Five Wents. The Parish Council subsidises summer coach outings and a Christmas trip for senior residents. There are a number of clubs and Societies including a Heritage Society.

Hextable has a strong community spirit and it's residents are the village's finest asset.
