Beams was established as a charity in 1996 by a group of parents who believed that they could deliver better support for their disabled child by working together than they were currently getting through the local authority. They became directly accountable to the parents, carers and young people who accessed their services.
The charity has grown due to demand and now offers services to at least 450 families at any one time. We need to generate £2.5 million through charitable donations in order to continue offering these services to some of the most vulnerable in society today.
